How to listen to, read, and download call recordings and transcripts

To enable call recordings, see: How to enable a call recording. To enable transcriptions, see: AI call transcriptions: how to activate transcriptions and summaries.

Every recorded call in Nimbata has an audio recording, a transcript, and an AI-generated summary, all accessible from the same place.

This article covers how to play, read, and download each one.

Listen to a recording

Step 1. Open the calls log

Step 2. Play the recording

  • Locate the call in the list.
  • Click the Play button on the call row to open the audio player.

Step 3. Download the recording (optional)

  • Click the download icon in the audio player to save the recording to your device.

If no Play button appears on a call row, recording was not enabled for that call at the time it occurred.

Read a transcript or summary

There are two ways to access transcripts.

Use the column method when you want to scan quickly across many calls.

Use the expanded panel when you want to read a specific transcript in full or switch to the AI summary.

Method A: Transcription column

Step 1. Add the Transcriptions column

  • Click the three-dot menu in the upper right of the calls list.
  • Select Edit Columns.
  • Find Transcriptions in the available columns list.
  • Click the arrow to move it to Selected Columns.
  • Click Close.

Step 2. Open a transcript

  • Click the transcript icon on any call row in the Transcriptions column.

Transcriptions are processed after the call ends. Allow a few minutes before they appear.

Method B: Expanded call panel

Step 1. Filter to calls with recordings

  • Click Filters, then + Add filter.
  • Select Recording and set the value to Yes.
  • Click Apply changes.

Step 2. Expand the call

  • Click the downward arrow on the call row to open the call detail panel.

Step 3. Open the transcript or summary

  • Click Transcript to read the full written record of the conversation.
  • Click Summary to read the AI-generated overview of the call.

Download a transcript

Download a single transcript

  • Expand the call row to open the call detail panel.
  • In the Transcript section, click the download icon to save the transcript as a text file.

Download transcripts in bulk

  • Go to Activity > Calls.
  • Apply any date range or filters to narrow the calls you want to export.
  • Add the Transcriptions column via the three-dot menu (see Method A above).
  • Scroll below the call list and click Excel or CSV to download.

Transcripts exported in bulk appear as plain text within the spreadsheet column. For the full formatted view, open the individual call record.

🎉 You can now play any recording, read any transcript, review any AI summary, and download what you need; all from Activity > Calls.
