Certain countries require additional information to be provided to the local regulator, before you can activate and use a number. These requirements are country-specific and mandatory. If verification is required, the number cannot be activated until the process is completed. Your information is handled securely and shared only with authorized parties, such as local regulators or number providers, as required by applicable legislation.

If the number you acquired falls under this category you'll get the following pop-up message:

A copy of this message will also be forwarded to your provided email address for easy reference. You can easily access the identity authentication environment by clicking on the hyperlink in the email text:

Step 1. Once you gather the information, click on the email link or go to Account > Identities. Click on '+ Create Identity' to commence the identity registration process.

Step 2. Change the default type of use to personal. Make sure you select business if you plan to activate more than one tracking number or use the numbers for commercial purposes.

Fill out the following required details under this type:

  1. First Name
  2. Last Name
  3. Company Name
  4. Phone Number

Note: For personal use, the Company Name field may be used to enter your personal name if applicable.

When ready click on the 'Create' button. This will create your identity. You are now ready to add an address.

Step 3. Click on "+ Create" to add your address.

Step 4. On the pop-up window, fill out your:

  1. Street and street number
  2. City
  3. Country
  4. Postal Code

Document requirements vary by country. You will only be asked to upload documents if they are required by local regulations.

Step 5. If local regulations require you to upload proof of address, this will show up in the identity overview after you've added your address:

Click on the '+ Create' button and choose the type of document you wish to upload. If no proof of address is required, skip to step 6.

Step 6. Follow the same procedure to upload the documents required to authenticate your identity. Accepted document types depend on local regulations and will be indicated in the upload interface.

  1. Click on '+ Add Documents'.

  1. Choose the type of document you wish to upload as proof.

Step 7. When all information and documents have been uploaded, minimize the identity menu and select the identity you've created.

Step 8. Click on 'Verify' to begin the authentication process:

Step 9. You will receive a 'Pending' status on your identity and will be assigned a case number. A 'Pending' status means your information is under review by the verification provider or local regulator.

Step 10. Verification of provided information typically takes up to 24 hours, but may take longer in some cases depending on local regulations.

  1. In the event of successful activation, you will receive the following email:

While verification is pending, the tracking number cannot receive or forward calls.

And that's it! Once your identity is verified, you can activate your tracking number and assign call flows to it.

  1. In the event of unsuccessful activation, you will receive the following email:

  • Click on 'Update Identity' to head back to the identities section and provide the necessary documentation. If you’re unsure which documents are missing or incorrect, contact Nimbata support for guidance.
