How to activate call capping

What is call capping?

There is such a problem as receiving too many calls. Business may be booming, and you want to give each potential customer the attention they deserve while avoiding getting completely overwhelmed yourself. This is where call capping comes into play. With it, you can:

  1. Set limits to maintain performance by defining a maximum number of calls you are willing to accept daily.
  2. Manage your advertising budget to maintain your capacity to handle incoming calls.
  3. Avoid too many inbound calls at once so you don't miss opportunities or provide poor customer experience.

Call capping setup

Step 1. Go to Tracking > Destinations.

Step 2. On the top right-hand side, click on 'Call Capping'.

Step 3. Toggle on the switch button that has appeared for the tracking number(s) you wish to activate call capping. Nimbata will display a relevant notification informing you that call capping has been updated your number's [friendly name].

Step 4. Feel free to edit these parameters by clicking on 'Change Call Capping Settings'.

The default call cap is set at 10 calls per day and the default start date is the day of activation.

Step 5. Edit your desired daily call cap and call capping start date, then click on 'Apply'.

And that's it! You have activated call capping!

How can I keep track of the numbers I have applied call capping to?

Nimbata has you covered - whenever you create a new call flow that uses a number that has a call capping limit applied to it, the system will display the following message to let you know:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Call capping is most effective when combined with Sequential or Weighted call distribution to route calls correctly across your business.
