Why does Google Ads show "inactive" status?

If your Google Ads integration shows an Inactive status even after completing the setup, run through the checks below before assuming something is broken.


Step 1. Verify your integration settings in Nimbata


Go to Integrations > Google Ads.


  • Confirm that your Ads Account and Conversion Name are selected.
  • Confirm that Include Value is checked.



Step 2. Confirm number swapping is working on your website


  • Append ?gclid=test to the end of your website URL to simulate a visit from Google Ads.
  • Verify that your Nimbata tracking number swaps in as expected.


Step 3. Wait for your first conversion


  • If both checks above pass, the Inactive status is expected.
  • It will update automatically once Google Ads receives its first conversion from Nimbata.


As per Google Ads API documentation, Nimbata sends conversions with a 24-hour delay to ensure proper attribution.


🎉 No further action needed. The status will change to active as soon as your first qualifying call is sent.
