Google Ads call extension verification for tracking numbers

In some cases, Google Ads may not verify tracking numbers from third-party providers when they are used as call extensions.

This can happen when Google is unable to associate the phone number with the advertiser’s website during its verification process.

One way to help Google verify the association between your website and your Google Ads account is to link Google Search Console.

To do this follow the steps listed below:

Step 1. Log in to your Google Ads account, and from the side menu, hover over 'Admin' and click on 'Linked accounts'.

Step 2. Find 'Search Console' and click on 'Manage & Link'.

Step 3. Google will ask you if you want to link search console to Google Ads. Click on 'Link'.

Step 4. Enter the URL of the site you wish to link and click on 'Continue'.

🎉 That’s it! If the linking process is successful, you’ll see Linked in the Status column.

Linking Search Console does not guarantee verification of every tracking number, but it can help Google associate your website with your Google Ads account during the call extension review process.

If for any reason you see any other status or the message that the account can't be linked to search console, consult the relevant Google Ads Help section here: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7529561?
