# Claude

Connect Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, to your Nimbata account. You can then ask Claude about your calls, reports and setup in plain language and, if you allow it, have Claude make changes for you, such as creating a tag or blocking a spam caller. Claude connects with your own Nimbata login, so it can only see and do what you can in Nimbata.

Claude connects through Nimbata's MCP server, at `https://mcp.nimbata.com/mcp`.

**Before you start**

- Plan: Every Nimbata plan
- Permissions: MCP Access in your Nimbata role (Read for View, Full access for View and manage)
- A Claude account.
- On Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner of your Claude organization adds Nimbata first (see the tab below).

## Connect Claude

1. **Add Nimbata in Claude**

   **Claude's directory**

   - In Claude, go to **Customize › Connectors** and click **+** next to **Connectors**.
   - Find **Nimbata** and click **Connect**.

   **Connector URL**

   - In Claude, go to **Customize › Connectors**, click **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector**.
   - Enter **Nimbata** as the name and `https://mcp.nimbata.com/mcp` as the URL, then click **Continue**.
   - Review the sign-in settings Claude detects and click **Continue**.
   - Under **OAuth client**, keep **Use Claude's published identity (Recommended)**, then click **Add**.
   - If Claude doesn't open Nimbata, click **Connect** next to Nimbata.

   **Claude Team or Enterprise**

   - **An Owner adds Nimbata once for everyone:** in **Organization settings › Connectors**, click **Browse connectors** at the bottom of the page, select **Nimbata** and click **Add to your team**.
   - **Or the Owner adds it by URL:** in **Organization settings › Connectors**, click **Add**, point to **Custom** and choose **Web**. Enter **Nimbata** and `https://mcp.nimbata.com/mcp`, click **Continue**, review the sign-in settings and click **Continue**. Under **OAuth client**, keep **Use Claude's published identity (Recommended)**, then click **Add**.
   - **Each member then connects:** in **Customize › Connectors**, find **Nimbata** and click **Connect**.

2. **Sign in to Nimbata**

Claude opens Nimbata. If you aren't signed in, sign in with your own Nimbata login. If you're already signed in, Nimbata skips this step and connects the account you're signed in with.

3. **Choose what Claude can do**

Under **Choose what Claude can do**, pick **View** to let Claude look up your data, or **View and manage** to also let it make changes. **Authorize Claude** stays unavailable until you pick one. If your role allows only Read, there's no choice: the page shows that Claude will be able to view your data.

4. (1) **Click Authorize Claude**

Click **Authorize Claude**. Nimbata sends you back to Claude, and the connection is ready.

[Nimbata's Authorize Claude page, with View and manage selected under Choose what Claude can do, and the Authorize Claude button marked 1]

*Nimbata's authorization page: choose View or View and manage, then click Authorize Claude (1).*

### What View and View and manage allow

- **View:** Claude can look up your calls and call reports, text messages, tracking numbers, destinations, call flows, workflows, tags, fields, sources and blocked callers.
- **View and manage:** Claude can also create and edit projects, call flows, workflows, tags, fields and sources, add destinations, and block callers.
- **Never:** Claude can't delete anything (removing a blocked caller included), buy or release numbers, change your plan or billing, manage users and roles, or send text messages. Those stay in the Nimbata app.

To switch levels later, disconnect Claude in Nimbata (see [Disconnect Claude](#disconnect-claude)), then connect again and choose the other level. Detailed guide: [What each access level allows](https://help.nimbata.com/integrations/ai-assistant-access#what-each-access-level-allows)

## Check it worked

In a new chat, click **+**, point to **Connectors** and make sure **Nimbata** is on. Then ask:

> Which Nimbata account is connected?

Claude replies with your name and email and your Nimbata organization's name.

## What you can ask Claude

Ask in plain language, as you would ask a colleague. Claude picks the right Nimbata data and may ask you a follow-up question, such as which project or dates you mean.

**Reports and calls**

- "How many calls did we get last week, and how does that compare with the week before?"
- "Which sources brought in the most calls this month?"
- "Show me the missed calls from first-time callers in the last 7 days."
- "Find the text messages we received yesterday."

**Changes** (these need View and manage)

- "Create a Quote request tag."
- "Block calls from (415) 555-0188 in all my projects."

> **Tip:** To decide which Nimbata tools Claude may use without asking, go to **Customize › Connectors** in Claude, select **Nimbata**, and set each tool under **Tool permissions** to **Always allow**, **Needs approval** or **Blocked**.

## Disconnect Claude

Disconnect Claude in Nimbata to end its access right away. You can also remove Nimbata from Claude.

**In Nimbata (recommended)**

- Go to **Account › My Profile**. Under **Connected apps**, click **Manage**.
- Next to **Claude**, click **Disconnect**, then click **Disconnect** again to confirm.

Claude loses access to your Nimbata account at once, even if Nimbata still shows in Claude's connectors. Detailed guide: [Review or disconnect your connected apps](https://help.nimbata.com/integrations/ai-assistant-access#review-or-disconnect-your-connected-apps)

**In Claude**

- Go to **Customize › Connectors**, find **Nimbata**, and click **Remove** (or open the **⋯** menu next to it).
- On Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner can remove Nimbata for the whole organization in **Organization settings › Connectors**.

To make sure Nimbata's side of the connection is closed too, also disconnect Claude in Nimbata.

## Troubleshooting

### Nimbata isn't in your Claude connectors

- On Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner must add Nimbata first, as in the **Claude Team or Enterprise** tab of [Connect Claude](#connect-claude). Ask your Claude Owner.
- On other plans, add it yourself with the **Connector URL** tab.

### Claude doesn't use Nimbata in a chat

- Click **+** in the chat, point to **Connectors** and turn **Nimbata** on for that chat.
- In **Customize › Connectors › Nimbata**, check that the tools you need aren't set to **Blocked** under **Tool permissions**.

### "Permission required" when you sign in

- Your Nimbata role doesn't include **MCP Access**. Ask your Nimbata administrator to add it: [Give a role access to AI assistants](https://help.nimbata.com/integrations/ai-assistant-access#give-a-role-access-to-ai-assistants).

### "Connection unavailable" when you sign in

- Your organization can't connect AI assistants right now, for example because its subscription has ended. Contact your Nimbata administrator. An admin can choose a plan in **Account › Plans & Billing**.

### Claude can't make a change, or asks you to connect Nimbata again

- You chose **View** when you connected, and changes need **View and manage**. If Nimbata's authorization page opens, choose **View and manage**, then click **Authorize Claude**.
- If it doesn't open, go to **Customize › Connectors** in Claude, disconnect **Nimbata** and connect it again, then choose **View and manage**.

### Claude says you don't have permission to make changes

- Your Nimbata role allows Claude to view your data but not to make changes, so the authorization page didn't offer **View and manage**. Ask your Nimbata administrator to add **Full access** to **MCP Access** in your role.
- Then go to **Customize › Connectors** in Claude, disconnect **Nimbata** and connect it again, and choose **View and manage**.

### Claude says the Nimbata connection has expired or was revoked

- The connection ended: it reached its one-year limit, wasn't used for 90 days, was disconnected in Nimbata, or your role lost the access it was approved with.
- In Claude, go to **Customize › Connectors** and click **Connect** next to **Nimbata** to connect again.

Detailed guide: [How long a connection lasts](https://help.nimbata.com/integrations/ai-assistant-access#how-long-a-connection-lasts)

### Claude says Nimbata is limiting requests

- Nimbata limits how many requests each person can make, and your personal API tokens count toward the same limit. Wait for the time Claude gives, then try again.

If something else goes wrong, contact <support@nimbata.com>.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does everyone on my team need to connect?

Yes. Even when a Claude Owner adds Nimbata for your whole Claude organization, each person clicks **Connect** and signs in with their own Nimbata login. Claude then has that person's access, and nobody else's.

### Can Claude change things without asking me?

With **View**, Claude can't change anything. With **View and manage**, set the Nimbata tools you want to approve first to **Needs approval** under **Tool permissions** in Claude.

### How does Nimbata handle my data?

Claude reads and changes your data through Nimbata with your permissions, and Nimbata handles it as its [privacy policy](https://www.nimbata.com/privacy-policy/) describes.
