# Porting numbers out

Porting a number out moves a number you have in Nimbata to another carrier. Your new carrier runs the request, using the account details on this page.

> **Note:** Want to move numbers from another provider **into** Nimbata instead? That's a different process, started with Nimbata support. See [Porting numbers in](https://help.nimbata.com/guides/number-porting).

## Required information for a port-out request

Our telecom carriers do not provide a traditional CSR (Customer Service Record). Instead, provide the following account information to your carrier.

- **End-user Name:** your business name (or personal name for residential)
- **Service Address:** any address within the US
- **Account Number:** use one of the phone numbers being ported (for example, if you wish to port out the number +1 (415) 555-0142, use that same number in this field)
- **BTN (Billing Telephone Number):** use one of the phone numbers being ported (same as above)
- **PIN/Password:** our carrier does not use PINs for port-outs

## Port-out fees

Port-out fees may vary from number to number. They are passed through from our provider's fees.

## Complete the port-out request

1. **Let Nimbata support know**

Tell us which numbers you're porting out, so we can follow the request. In Nimbata, click the **?** icon at the top right and choose **Submit a request**, or email <support@nimbata.com>.

2. **Submit the request**

Submit the port request with your new carrier using the information above.

3. **Your carrier contacts ours**

Your carrier sends the port request to our carrier directly.

Your port-out request is ready to send.
