# Number porting

Porting your existing phone numbers to Nimbata lets you use your familiar business numbers as tracking numbers, so you keep continuity while gaining call analytics.
To move a number out of Nimbata instead, see [Port a number out](https://help.nimbata.com/guides/number-porting#port-a-number-out).

## Port numbers in

### Step 1. Start the porting request

Because porting requires coordination with your current carrier, you must reach out to the Nimbata support team to start the process.

- Head over to <https://www.nimbata.com/contact> to reach the Nimbata support team.
- Provide your current carrier details, the phone numbers to be ported, and proof of ownership.

### Step 2. Prepare for the transfer

- Do not cancel your service with your current carrier during the porting process.
- Gather the documentation required by your country to verify ownership of the numbers.

For the documents required for your country: [Requirements by country](https://help.nimbata.com/workspace/regulatory-requirements#requirements-by-country)

- Click **Add Destination**.

#### Create a call flow

- Go to [Call handling > Call Flows](https://app.nimbata.com/call-handling/call-flows).
- Click **+ Create**.
- Give your flow a name and use the **+** icon to add actions.

#### Assign your numbers

- Click the **Select a call flow** field next to your ported number.
- Select the call flow you just created.

### Step 4. Enable the DNI script (optional)

If you want to use your ported numbers for website tracking:
