# How to delete projects

||| Deleting a project is permanent. Before proceeding, make sure the project has no tracking numbers or destination numbers still assigned to it.

### Step 1. Open Projects

* Click your **user avatar** in the top-right corner.
* Select [Projects](https://app.nimbata.com/projects).

### Step 2. Open the project

* Click the name of the project you want to delete.

### Step 3. Click Delete

* Scroll to the bottom of the project settings page.
* Click the **Delete** button.

### Step 4. Confirm deletion

* Click **Remove** in the confirmation pop-up.

🎉 The project has been deleted. A confirmation message will appear at the top of the screen.

### If deletion fails

If a red error message appears, the project is still tied to one or more tracking numbers or destination numbers. 
Remove or reassign those numbers first, then try again.
